Trims and Decoratives

We offer standard trim pieces such as bullnoses, v-caps and cornices, in addition to a variety of rails, accents and beads, to complement our handcrafted, designer and square edge fields. We also offer our Estate trims; a selection of larger trims for extraordinary detail work. An extensive selection of corner pieces is available for our trims. Decoratives range in size from 1×1” to 12×12” with murals in even larger sizes.

Colors/Glazes

Status Ceramics features nearly 100 colors which can be applied to all of our field and decorative tiles. The colors are broken down into seven types:

  • Clear: glossy finish in muted tones
  • Frosted: eggshell finish in muted tones (same colors as Clear)
  • Fire: matte glazes in earthen tones
  • Jewel: Glossy tones in vibrant colors
  • Crackle: a range of colors in a traditional crackle (crazed) finish
  • Cristal: a deeper, denser crackled finish in contemporary hues
  • Specialty: an assortment of unique colors in a variety of finishes

Variation

Color variation is an inherent trait in handcrafted tile. Just as with natural stone, no two pieces are alike. It is essential to convey this to your clients during their selection process. Because of this inherent variation, we will produce control samples for your and your client’s approval on a job-by-job basis. Some colors vary only slightly, and some have a wide range of variation. In addition, color variations also occur between field tile and decoratives, since many of the decoratives have convex or concave surfaces that cause the glaze to pool or run during the firing process.

Lead Time

In order to allow for sufficient time for production and quality control, please allow four weeks for standard orders. Smaller orders usually process more quickly and larger orders may take additional time.

Recommended Uses

Status Ceramics are intended for use as an interior wall tile. They may be suitable for certain light-use countertops and surfaces. Please consult us with any questions.

Wet Areas: Suitable for use in wet applications such as shower walls & shower floors. It is not recommended our tiles be installed in submerged water applications, such as pools and fountains. For wet applications, we recommended preparing the surface with a waterproof membrane. Status Ceramics will not be responsible for material failures resulting from use over a damaged, defective or improperly prepared surface and can not be held responsible for replacement of tile used in areas with complete water submersion, including, but not limited, to pools & fountains.

Exterior Use: Since our tiles are not frost proof, we do not recommend installing outdoors in areas susceptible to freezing temperatures. We do not recommend that our tiles be installed in outdoor applications which are uncovered and exposed to the elements.

Patterns

Not all of our field tiles are intended to be used in patterns. We recommend using one of the approved patterns, which can be found on the Patterns page.
